Experience Full Hearing Protection While Keeping Aware of Your Surrounding Sound with MusicPro Series.
Etymotic has dominated the ear protection market for more than ten years, thanks to its extensive background in acoustic research and the hearing aid sector. In 1984, it created insert earphones, solidifying its position as the top choice and gaining a reputation as the industry leader.
Ensuring the well-being of your hearing is often overlooked by many individuals, however, research indicates that implementing precautionary measures to prevent hearing impairment at a younger age can result in maintaining optimal hearing abilities for longer.
That's why it is crucial to safeguard your hearing when working in the music industry, attending concerts, or enjoying musical events. The MusicPro Series were specifically designed to protect the hearing of professionals, musicians, and enthusiasts alike.
The MusicPro Series pricing starts at $399.99 available directly from Etymotic and selected retailers globally.

MusicPro Elite
The MusicPro is available in two variations, the MusicPro and the MusicPro Elite. Both employ advanced active hearing protection technology, but the MusicPro comes with interchangeable batteries for easy replacement. The MusicPro Elite, on the other hand, is equipped with a rechargeable lithium battery case for effortless charging.
The MusicPro Elite's housing is durable, waterproof, and compact, allowing you to recharge the Elite's battery and monitor its power level using a clear OLED display showing the state of charge.
Active vs Passive Ear Protection
Using scientific research, it has been shown that wearing ear protection can safeguard our hearing and maintain its health over time. However, how do we choose between Active and Passive ear protection, and what sets them apart?
The contrast between passive and active hearing protection lies in how they deal with surrounding noise. Passive protection uses materials like foam or plastic to shield against loud sounds.
The much more sophisticated active hearing protection utilizes microphones and amplifiers to selectively reduce and shield from damaging noise while still permitting safe sounds, like voices.
Who Are the MusicPro & MusicPro Elite For?
Created for musicians, crew members, and attendees at live events to safeguard their hearing without compromising the clarity of sound, the MusicPro collection provides various levels of noise reduction to accommodate various settings - effectively shielding without altering the wearer's ambient sounds.
Even though traditional earplugs muffle surrounding sounds, they do not provide the same level of effectiveness as MusicPro, which not only distorts but also ruins the quality of music. For engineers, this hinders their ability to work efficiently, and for concert attendees, it detracts from the overall music experience.
Using the latest innovations in ear protection, and featuring advanced technology that continuously monitors incoming sounds, the two dynamic modes are ideal for any scenario. Maintain the quality of music or party noise while safeguarding your hearing.
The MusicPro and MusicPro Elite enable the entry of authentic sound while protecting the ears in noisy settings. Each one includes two settings: In the Low setting, sound can pass through up to 100 dB with compression kicking in at 70 dB, while the High setting provides a 9 dB reduction for loud noises and amplifies quieter sounds by 6 dB. If the volume surpasses 90 dB, it decreases by 15 dB with a rapid reaction.
The MusicPro and MusicPro Elite variants showcase variations in design and functionalities. While both include Low and High attenuation settings, the Elite version provides additional advanced features - catering to users with specific requirements.
In Low Mode, the MusicPro allows natural hearing below 90 dB SPL with 15 dB attenuation for louder sounds, while the Elite provides transparent audio pass-through up to 90 dB and compression starting at 60 dB. High Mode, offers a 6 dB gain for softer sounds and 9 dB attenuation for louder ones, in both models.
The MusicPro comes with a multitude of changeable ear tips, while the Elite features a near-custom fit. The MusicPro uses replaceable batteries, whereas the Elite has rechargeable batteries lasting 16 to 20 hours and a charging case with over 15 additional charges! The Elite also includes a rugged, water-resistant charging case.

About Etymotic
Etymotic (meaning: true to the ear) is an engineering-driven research, development, and manufacturing company. Etymotic was founded to design research instruments that accurately detect and assess hearing loss. Etymotic invented insert earphones in 1984. The first versions were used for diagnostic testing and precision auditory research (ER-1, 2, 3). In 1991, the first noise-isolating high-fidelity in-ear earphones, utilizing balanced armature drivers, were introduced. The ER-4 emerged as a result and served as the foundation for all subsequent in-ear earphones and monitors worldwide. Thus creating an entire category of consumer electronics, and establishing these speakers as the gold standard for high-definition in-ear earphones. The ER-4 earphones are still produced and channel-balanced to within 1 dB in the Etymotic labs in the US. Innovation, education, and hearing preservation are central to the Etymotic mission. Their products are used by university researchers, hearing practitioners, hearing-impaired consumers, professional and amateur musicians, and others who demand superior sound quality. In 2018, Etymotic was acquired by Lucid Audio, effectively joining forces between two companies focused on innovating the best hearing solutions available. Lucid Audio has allowed for continued research and development to maintain the quality of our products. There are a variety of different brands under the Lucid Audio family with a single vision of furthering hearing healthcare advancements and developing quality consumer listening products.
